Another 12-months has whizzed past and I am about to enter my fourth year of writing.  Looking back an ironic smile crossed my face.  The 2015 deadline for my rough draft shifted from spring to summer and finally occurred in September.  “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”

As I continued to review my draft, I imagined it as a block of wood.  At the beginning, I had a vision of what it would look like.  As I whittled away, it began to take form, but the edges still need much more work.

I am hoping to have my first attempts at refinement done by the end of February.  Then I send it off to Alida for her critical review.  Again more polishing and honing will occur.  I plan to have the last bit of whittling completed by late 2016.  Again “the best-laid plans…”

Looking back, my blog post for 12/2014 quoted Yoda from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back: “Do or do not. There is no try.” So for my last post in 2015, as The Force Awakens opened in theatres nationwide, I wish you all the best for a healthy, prosperous, happy New Year. “May the force be with you!”

Happy New Year Mark. I’m going back to Florida on January 13 and have no set date to return to Minnesota (probably in May) but look forward to seeing you then.

I did not know you had a blog, but Jan knew. She always knows more than I do. I will read it in the future.
